A classically trained actor and professional stand-up comic, Robert Hoehn (pronounced like “pain” but with an H) is proud to be from Minnesota, and to currently live in Paris…because it’s very chic! He created and has hosted FRENCH FRIED COMEDY NIGHT since 2012, and regularly performs his one-man show AMERICAN REFUGEE which will begin touring after Edinburgh 2018.
Robert is known for his « contagious high energy”, and being able to « capture the absurdity of different cultures through their expressions”. Robert puts on “a great show; hilarious, without being vulgar… »
Robert is fresh back from a tour in Minnesota including the HOUSE OF COMEDY in Minneapolis and the JOKE JOINT in Saint Paul, he has performed stand-up comedy all over the world including; a sold out LE BATACLAN, THEATRE DU GYMNASE, LE PANAME, SENTIER DES HALLES, CAFE OSCAR, and the JAMEL COMEDY CLUB in Paris, as well as the ANGEL, BACKYARD COMEDY CLUB, and MONKEY BUSINESS in the UK. Most recently Robert won the coveted cup at COMEDY VIRGINS making him bankable on the UK scene.
Additionally, on the small screens, Robert created a Youtube channel in 2009 about ex-pat life in Paris called FRENCH FRIED TV. In January 2016 he co-created and co-wrote the short program on French TV channel CANAL+, entitled WHAT THE FUCK FRANCE; the first show ever produced in English by French television. The show has continued it’s success with over 38 million views on Youtube.
